Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker AAW100 8-Inch Auto Wrench Adjusting WrenchCustomer Review: WEARS OUT QUICKLY AND INTERNAL PART REPLACEMENTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. Summary: 1 StarsI bought one of these about 3 years ago. I've only used it a couple of times. Now, I find that it has difficulty opening and closing using the automatic feature because the internal motor and drive belt are worn. I was told by the authorized service center for Black and Decker that internal replacement parts are not available for this product. I expected a wrench that cost $25 to last a lot longer especially with the light use.
The reason I was attracted to this product is that the automatic feature seemed to make it a lot easier when having to continuously remove and re-attach the wrench to a nut in order to continue turning it. However, there a better solution to this problem. Sears now has an adjustable wrench that has a ratchet feature. With this feature you do not have to remove the wrench from the nut to continue turning it.
Customer Review: The No grip Wrench Summary: 2 StarsIt wasn't really what I thought it was going to be, the adjustable part works fine but the closing end has no teeth.
Customer Review: Waste of money Summary: 1 StarsI have this tool but never use it. The switch to open or close it is in a bad place, just when you get ready to use it you accidently open the wrench as the switch is easily pushed. It also does not grip tight at all. It is useless in my opinion and a total waste of money. It looked like a good idea but isn't.
Customer Review: Perfect Gift Summary: 5 StarsI recently purchased this wrench for my grandson-in-law's birthday. His collection of tools consisted of 2 screwdrivers. He and I were both impressed with the versatility of the wrench. It was an excellent buy and I recommend it highly.
Customer Review: waste of money Summary: 1 StarsI own this wrench and it is a waste of money. It runs off of AAA batteries that can't even power the jaws back and forth without assistance. You might as well spend the money this thing costs on a good wrench and save yourself the headache.
