Description of Black & Decker D2020 Digital Advantage IronBlack and Decker D2020 Digital Advantage Iron The power of steam meets the digital age in this electronically equipped iron from Black & Decker. Programmed to display temperature settings and signal the auto-off function, the iron?s mini LCD monitor includes back lighting for easy viewing. It works in conjunction with the unit?s SmarTemp system, an audible alert that sounds when the desired temperature is reached. If you feel comfortable using a standard dial setting, then this iron may be no more than a lateral move. But if you?ve always felt unsure launching into ironing without some feedback, this could be your machine. The iron comes with a highly polished stainless-steel soleplate, a good choice for long life, easy glide, and corrosion-resistance. The water features include spray, variable steam, and surge to make your labor more efficient, and the vertical steam is handy for hanging garments and draperies. For safety and extra peace of mind, the iron automatically shuts off after 10 minutes of being idle. It also comes with an extra-long cord, a custom-fit measuring cup, and a self-cleaning anti-build-up system. Black & Decker includes a one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard
Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker D2020 Digital Advantage IronCustomer Review: This Iron ROCKS Summary: 5 Stars
The 20x0 series is great and getting better. I was looking at the 2030 for retail when I searched and found the 2020 (last year's) for much less.
Digital: just plug in and click the button for 1-7 heat. auto turn off, etc.
Size: I am a guy and so no issues their but some waif may see that as a full size iron.
Shape: Not bad, but wish a bit pointier tip for hard to reach spots. Still better than most.
Holes: I was skeptical on the amount of holes on the stainless surface of the iron, but the way it produces steam evenly, I am satified.
Heat: deadly digital accurate and didn't screw up silk ties or anything yet. Best feature is that is is hot as hell about 5 seconds after you turn it on. It takes about 90 seconds to reach heat of 7 and beep that is ready, but MAN this thing starts out running!
Steam: Produces steam in about 15 seconds (I have no idea how) and the steam button blows a cloud though the fabric evenly. No drips or globs of water.
Design: Water fill is med large tank (but used quickly) with snap lid (this looks cheesy and breakable) and tank is see through. Cord is long enough and buttons are obvious. The steam button is on the right so lefties like me are happy.
Bottom line: Best iron I ever had. I toss my linen pants in the washer and iron out in no time! If you have a shirt or tie that cost 100 bucks, why not buy a decent iron? I found this one for 29.99 and free ship! Just keep looking around and make sure you are aware if you are buying a refurb or last year's model.
