Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker D2030 Auto-Off Digital Advantage Iron

Customer Review: Finally, the only water that comes out is steam!
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm surprised to hear that some reviewers had leaking problems with this iron. I bought this iron to replace my top end Rowenta (that was 3 x the price) because from day 1 you couldn't move the Rowenta without huge water spots being left all over the place. Pretty much all of the Rowenta owners I know are giving up the brand due to the leaking problems. Rowenta even addressed it in the owner's manual, blaming it on minerals in the water. Not likely...

So after 10 years of various Rownentas, I'm giving B&D a try based on the Consumer Reports ratings (where Rowenta is well in the middle of the pack). I should have done it years ago. Because this iron is great - not just for the price - but simply a great product, period.

Customer Review: Really good iron
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this iron for a year now. It has been great. I'm a 6'2" 220-lb guy who irons a lot and finds something to complain about for most purchases over $10... and I can't find anything to complain about here. This iron is heavy, so don't buy it if you want something lighter. My wife would prefer something lighter, but she doesn't do much ironing. I've never done any maintainence on it or cleaned it, and the sole still looks shiny and new using regular tap water. It heats up quickly to the cotton setting (very high heat) and produces lots and lots of steam at all heat levels. The water is easy and quick to refill. The price is good. As long as you don't mind a heavy iron, you should be happy with this one at this price.

Customer Review: Love that Iron!
Summary: 5 Stars

This Black & Decker Digital Iron is, by far, the best iron I have ever used. I was a bit concerned about buying a digital iron. Not any more! It makes fabric selection a breeze. The steam function is incredible. With my old iron I hated the prospect of having to iron a shirt or slacks before getting dressed in the morning. NO MORE. If I didn't dislike ironing, I might decide I really do LOVE IT with this iron. No complaints here.

The auto-off function was a concern as well. No more worries about "did I turn the iron off?" as I am driving to work. The iron cools down quickly.

I reviewed Consumer Reports and looked at all the reviews of the users on-line. You can't go wrong with this one.

Customer Review: Great Iron
Summary: 5 Stars

We purchased this iron after the last one (which was expensive) was repeatedly dropped to the floor. Not wanting to spend as much money as the first we decided to try this one. It has, thus far, proven to be a wonderful iron. It heats up very quickly, the digital readout is nice, the auto shut-off is convenient as is the ability to shut it off without unplugging it... a feature not available on every auto-off iron. The amount of steam this baby puts it is also impressive. The only thing I do not like is the small amount of water it holds... a minor inconvenience. Also the speed with which you go through the water is due to the amount of steam it goes through (a feature that is adjustable). All in all, an excellent iron!!

Customer Review: The best iron I've ever had
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been searching for a good iron for about 5 years, and in this Black and Decker iron I have finally found what I have been looking for. I tested it on a silk blouse that two other irons (one of them, the much-ballyhooed T-fal Aquaspeed) could not get the wrinkles out of, and the Black and Decker made short work of it. The blouse came out smooth and neat with little effort. I love the digital display that beeps and says "READY" when the iron has reached the right temperature for the fabric you choose. It heats up incredibly fast, and the steam won't quit. All in all it's a great iron and I am very satisfied with it. I don't regret the five-year search that finally led to this iron. Also, it's very good-looking.
