Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker D2030 Auto-Off Digital Advantage Iron

Customer Review: A Great Iron....
Summary: 5 Stars

After 2yrs my Euro-Pro died a very nasty death melted the cover and padding. So after a long and hard search, reading reviews not only at Amazon but other sites as well I decided on this Black & Decker. I love this iron, it's got a good weight, great steam,a window that lights up to let you know it's ready to use.
All of the reviews I've read all said the same thing how happy they are with the purchase and I too am glad I bought it.

UPDATE;2/21/07
Well it's been several months now since I bought the iron and it is still going strong. I'm very happy with the purchase. Heats up quickly, no leaking of any kind, I keep my steam setting on the highest so I do refill it several times a week and have not had any problem with the cover breaking. After paying so much for several Rowentas what a great feeling to finally find a great item and at an even better price.

Customer Review: Great price for an outstanding iron!
Summary: 5 Stars

My 5 year old T-fal iron broke recently and I started the research to buy a good quality iron. I was looking for something sturdy, easy to clean and ofcourse, a very good iron. I started out considering the Rowentas and after reading several reviews and also being a bit discouraged by their price, I settled on this one. B&D has not disappointed me and I'm very pleased with my choice. The iron feels light yet sturdy, is easy to keep clean and irons perfectly. It reaches the desired temperature fast and the digital display is a big bonus. I have used the steam and have also ironed without the steam. I have been pleased in both the cases. Even without the steam, the iron removed the wrinkles fast with it's perfect temperature settings. This iron wasn't available in any local stores near me and so I got it from Amazon. For the price and it's performance, I would say run for this iron!

Customer Review: A Quilter's Choice
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm a quilter, and this digital steam iron fits my needs
very well. It heats very quickly, the controls are easy
to use, temperature is well regulated. It has a large
water tank, so doesn't need to be refilled so often.
The Auto-Off is a good feature to have..... I don't
worry about forgetting to turn the iron off, because
it will remember for me. I love the "glide" and the
way it fits my hand. I have arthritic hands so the comfort
issue is a major one. Probably the thing I enjoy most
about quilting is the creative process. When I'm 'in
process', I don't like being distracted by having
to wait on and deal with such delays as waiting on the iron
to heat or having to stop and refill the tank. This is
clearly the best steam iron for my purposes.

Customer Review: Consumers is right about this iron!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've owned this iron for several months and I am one of those strange people who doesn't mind ironing! This iron heats up very quickly and beeps when it hit the correct temperature. It does power off automatically; however, there's a red light that stays on despite that the iron is off - perhaps as a reminder that the iron is still plugged in. This iron is supposed to alert you when it needs cleaning (this feature is why I purchased the 2030 vs the 2020). I find this iron very lightweight and glides effortlessly over fabric. One caveat - for some odd reason this iron did some weird electrical stuff (nothing dangerous) but would power off right in the middle of an ironing session. It may be my electrical outlet but then it may be some weird thing about the iron. Even despite this episode (it happened several times) I still recommend the iron.

Customer Review: Black & Decker Steam Iron
Summary: 5 Stars

Sometimes a tool can make a chore almost pleasant. This iron does that. It's balanced well so you can iron for a long time without your hand getting weary. It has a nice big water well, so you don't have to refill it very often; a pointing front end for getting into tight spaces; lots of choices on the heat/steam dial; a comfortable handle; a long cord; and safety features like automatic off if you get distracted and leave it on by mistake. It runs smoothly over almost every fabric and the steam is even. It has a steam burst feature and a sprinkle gun, too. All in all, an appliance that actually makes the chore easier. PS Don't be frightened by the listed price. I got it for much less on Amazon. Black & Decker D2030 Auto-Off Digital Advantage Iron
