Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker D2030 Auto-Off Digital Advantage IronCustomer Review: Best Iron I've ever owned Summary: 5 Stars
I replaced my defunct Rowenta with this iron and could not be more pleased with the purchase after two months of use. The D2030's controls are very easy to understand and use and I like that the iron beeps when it reaches the correct temperature. Multiple fabric settings allow you to iron lightweight poly blends as easily as heavy denim and--my favorite feature--it steams on lower temperatures as well as higher ones. It puts out copious amounts of steam without spitting. The display tells you when it needs to be cleaned and it's simple to do so. It's a tad bit heavy but not uncomfortably so, and glides effortlessly over the fabric you're ironing and one pass over the fabric gets the job done. Makes ironing a quick and easy chore and I'd purchase this product again in a heartbeat. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it lasts a long, long time!
Customer Review: Fabulous Iron Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this iron for my wife who has been ironing my clothes for more than 40 years. She tells me that it a fabulous iron, the best she has owned. She wants a lot of steam out of an iron so she doesn't have to keep going back and forth over the same area of the garment she is ironing. She says this one has it. I tell her it should, since it has 1500 watts of power. She also tell me she likes the digital controls and the upright steam. I don't know what upright steam is, but she likes it. We both like the fact that it has an automatic shutoff. This is especially important when you get to be our age. She says it is a little heavy, but that is a small price to pay for a product this good. She says she wouldn't give it up for any other iron. I am thankful for that, since I would like my clothes to look pressed for another 40 years.
Customer Review: Better than Rowenta Summary: 5 Stars
My previous iron for 9+ years was a Rowenta, so when it finally went I naturally searched for a new Rowenta replacement. After reading reviews on Rowenta some people said they liked the Black & Decker better. Since the reviews on the D2030 were so positive I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. Compared to my old Rowenta (which I liked very much) this is equal if not better in all categories. It's light weight, heats up fast, has many multiple settings and it's half the price! I use it mostly for ironing cotton shirts and yes, bed sheets. The cotton & linen settings are really hot and it gives a nice crisp finish to my shirts and sheets. I always like to have the best of the best and thought Rowenta was always THE ONE to own. Not so. The most expensive is not always the best. Give it a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Customer Review: Great Iron at a Great Price Summary: 5 Stars
I first started at Consumer Reports and found this iron to be the top rated iron, even among much more expensive models. Once again, their review was spot-on...this is a great iron. It's heavy, necessary for helping to take the wrinkles out. I love the digital display and the pushbutton to increase the heat settings in single increments, letting the display tell you for what type of cloth the heat setting is for--takes a lot of the guessing out of the settings.
I've had no annoying water dripping like almost every other iron I've ever used, and and I've never scorched a synthetic material leaving the charred remains on the iron, which can ruin the next piece you iron (speaking from experience).
This is the best iron I've ever used and I've been ironing my clothes every business day for over 25 years.
Customer Review: My Wife and I Both Agree - Best Iron Ever! Summary: 5 Stars
Positive reviews by others convinced me to give this iron a try after a bad experience with a T-fal iron.
Thank you Amazon reviewers! This was a great tip. I don't usually gush about products but this iron works great. Maybe it's because there are so many poorly designed irons on the market? It seems like we've gone through a lot of different irons, all with different problems (too heavy, cheezy controls, sticky sole plate, hard to fill, etc.).
After months of regular use I can honestly say this iron has exceeded my expectations. My Wife and I both love it. It has very good build quality, intuitive, easy to use (and read) controls, and an easy to fill reservoir. My favorite part is the stainless sole plate. It is non-stick and glides like butter! If you need a great iron at a great price - this is it.
