Assembly is minimal with no tools required. It it's a great mulcher, but if you prefer to bag, you can add the side bag attachment that's sold separately. You have to get used to mowing with a cord, which is challenging at first. But this cuts through thick grass just as well as my old gas powered mower did. I also do not have the same grass/gas odor after mowing. I love it! My yard is a quarter acre, which probably makes it much more manageable than a larger yard with this would be.
