This saw is only 9.5 feet long (6.5 feet without the extension), will run out of battery before you run out of energy, has to be oiled, and is a little unwieldy due to the weight. But having said that, this saw is great! It allows you to get into and through dense foliage, reaching places that a rope saw could never get to. With a fully charged battery I found that it cut very well. And keep in mind, the reason you still have energy when the battery runs down is that the saw has been doing most of the work. The only problem is that you will have a lot of branches to get rid of when you're done.Customer Review: Cordless electric pole saw

I am very pleased with this saw.
It's a little heavier than I expected, but I wasn't planning to use it for long periods of time. I was able to cut branches quite easily that had defeated me with a traditional pole saw.
I like the fact that part of the pole is removeable, so you don't have to use it at full length all the time. It's even handy for cutting small trees, brush a little above ground level, and feels much safer than a traditional chain saw since you are separated from the saw by a pole.
I'd recommend this saw.

Seems to work well. One thing that I was not clear on before I bought this item is that there is no onboard oil reservoir for the chain. It simply has an oil bottle that is used to apply oil to the chain directly. This is probably fine since this is not a high horsepower piece of equipment. It says to oil the chain when replacing batteries but I think it could be done at least twice that often. I got it for trimming around the driveway and in the yard a little. It is fine for this but it is not going to ever be a chainsaw that is used for cutting firewood. The saw is ok. I charged the battery 9 hours when i first got it, Iused it, it worked real well. I then charged it 6 hours and put it away. when i tried to use it again the battery was almost dead. I again charged it. It worked well. I again charged it and put it away, when I tried to use it again the battery was to low to use. thank you George Smith
