Description of Black & Decker SZ360 3.6-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Power ScissorsBLACK and DECKER POWER SCISSORS *3.6V *Cordless power *Use on fabric, cardboard, paper tarps, canvas, vinyl window screening and more *Ergonomic design - scissor blade in-line with material, soft comfort grip *Includes: 3.6V scissors, universal cutting blade and charger These scissors offer way more cutting power than just about anyone can muster with muscle alone, and best of all, it?s effortless. You can?t help but love a product that makes life so much easier, especially for folks who suffer from arthritis. You can cut nearly anything with these, from delicate pattern paper to sheet vinyl flooring and window screening, with just the press of a button. Our favorite job for these, though, is to easily slice into that impossible-to-open, hard plastic packaging that seems to be on most everything these days. It?s no match for these scissors. When power scissors first came out, there wasn?t too much concern about ergonomics, but we know so much more these days about how important that is. Black & Decker?s made this power tool a treat for the body to use, with a nice cushy grip, super light weight and no force needed. One charge will keep you cutting for 70 minutes, and then you just plug it in and charge it again. There?s no end to what you can use these power scissors for ? gift wrapping, sewing, scrapbooking, decorating, jobs around the house, crafts, clipping coupons. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste Black & Decker's 3.6 Volt Cordless Power Scissors are powerful, versatile cutting tools that work on a wide variety of materials ranging from delicate fabric and paper to tough vinyl and plastic packaging. These indispensable scissors feature an ergonomically-shaped handle with no-slip grip to ensure safe and comfortable handling and guarantee up to 70 hours of continuous use on each full charge.
Tools and Hardware Reviews of Black & Decker SZ360 3.6-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Power ScissorsCustomer Review: These are serious!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Greetings all ... I am one of the many unfortunate folks that developed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, albeit industrial, it grossly limits my functioning everywhere. Tasks once taken for granted are now a chore or impossible. The discovery of these scissors has literally been a godsend! As previously posted, they do in fact eat through that hard plastic packaging like a 10-year-old through a pudding cup. However, they tend to stumble a bit with the hard plastic ridges. I have found that if you begin your cutting at the hole used to display the product, the ridges are avoided, and therefore not a problem. Also, as stated in previous reviews the price coupled with my current disability is what led me to purchase these. I too have spent more on lottery tickets and had nothing to show after. After 12 hours of charging nothing in my house was safe! I immediately purchased a second unit!!! Several months ago we had purchased a pair of motorized scissors, marketed by Singer for about five dollars less. When I read the ad claims for these particular scissors, I attempted to open a plastic package with the Singer brand scissors, only to have the blades literally explode from the tip of the scissors! We concluded that perhaps the Singer scissors were meant for fabric only!?!? These scissors on the other hand are genuinely hard-core. Again, their major limitation is the ability to start a cut over a hard plastic ridge. However, with minimal troubleshooting, you will figure out a way around this. As stated at the beginning of my review, I simply start at the hole meant for the hanging display. I highly recommend these for anyone who has issues with their hands or wrists, or simply want to take the effort and risk out of opening that hard plastic product packaging, which has actually cut me moderately to severely in the past. My only complaint thus far; is how to locate and acquire additional heads. Black & Decker are infamous for putting out a very cool device such as this, only to pull it from the shelves a year or two later. I learned this with one of their drills with the removable chuck. This particular drill allowed you to drill a pilot hole, remove the chuck by simply pressing a button, exposing a screwdriver head ready to go. This was a great idea, but is also not in their product lineup anymore. I guess drilling pilot holes is not in vogue in the 21st century? Given how cool the scissors are, and that they are literally an adaptive device for me, additional heads are a necessity. That is my only complaint. Otherwise, if you follow the directions and understand its realistic limitations, you will not be sorry about the purchase. I write very few product reviews, because I have to use voice recognition software, which depending on accuracy can be quite time consuming in the cleanup process. These scissors's, motivated me to fire up the voice recognition software and sing the praises of their usefulness.
