Customer Review: good filter but gets clogged fast!

these are impossible to find anywhere so I was happy to see they were here on amazon... these filters work well but they get clogged with dust very quickly and the dust busters performance suffers until you clean them out.. I use my buster a lot every day so I have to blast my filters with canned air every couple of days to keep the performance up to par. the other style filters with the louvered surface seems to go much longer before needing a cleaning but my new dust buster can't use those filters.. these do hold up well for many cleanings but it's a dusty messy process getting them clean.. over all good quality but requires some not so fun maintenance.

We've only had this unit for a few days, but are quite happy with it. We have replaced a 10-year-old unit which my wife loved. But this B&D is lighter, quieter, and seems to work better than the old one; it has plenty of suction for the jobs we've reserved for a hand-held like this. Because its nose is smaller, it is easier to get into normal spaces, and the slide-out 'snout' makes tight spaces a snap.
Opening it to empty the cup also seems quite smooth.
I am particularly pleased: When she decided to tackle a spill right behind me as I am reading the paper, the unit doesn't sound like an MD-80 in distress.
